Tracking advice

Hey guys, I could use some guidance. I shot a deer this evening and the shot was a little low behind the shoulder. Broadside angle. I saw the deer kick his back legs then trot off about 30 yards into a thicket. I saw him stand for a few minutes, head up because there was another buck in the area that had his attention before the shot. He then slowly took a few steps then I lost him in the thicket. I waited for a hour then slowly slipped down from my climber and got out. I left the arrow in the ground thinking I would just start tracking from there first thing in the morning. When I got back I checked the forecast and it looks like we are supposed to get rain before sunrise. Now I’m thinking I might go back out tonight around 10-11 to get ahead of the rain. Or should I sit tight and not risk pushing the deer until morning. My gut tells me it’s either heart shot or a flesh would. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
 
I'd give it an hour, then go see what the blood looks like. Kicking up the back legs is a good indicator of a solid hit. Hate to see your blood trail get washed away.

X2 would definitely give it a hour or 2 then go look at blood on arrow
 
You already waited one hour and got a good mule kick from what you described. Give it maybe a second hour if you want for peace of mind and go get your buck!
 
Probably laying right there, if your not on the property line, go and see what it looks like. The spot you watched him stand at will tell you what you need to do.
 
Good luck. I hate to be that guy but I brisket shot one last year and he reacted the same if that's the case your gonna have to keep close to him or keep him moving to keep bleeding. Last year that deer bled like crazy first 60 yards then down to nothing good thing was i had him back on cam within a week. I hope you find him.
