Treestand setup/prep poll

I read or heard a long time ago that your first sit, is always the best sit. I'm the guy that'll make a set in a place any time of the year. I very rarely hunt the same spot multiple times in a season. Maybe with a gun, but not a bow. Unless a bait pile is involved...but 90% of the places I hunt don't have bait piles.
All that being said...I haven't even bought a stand for this year yet. Lol

We still have a few days work left to get our last ones ready. We have a mix that we left up from last year, ones we need to put back up, and some we need to go back in and retighten the stand and climbing stick straps (we loosen them so they don't get some damn tight when the tree grows). Never seem to get totally 'done' messing with them.
Final check and clear on 1 stand this weekend that's already up. Hang 1 stand this weekend with a little cleaning. Got permission at a place where I will need to build a ground blind. Gun hunted last year from a popup blind that was out about 3-4 weeks. I don't think it would last months, so farmer letting me construct a straw bail blind...maybe this weekend or next.
I like to have mine up well before now but this heat this summer didn't help. I finally got my stand finalized last night. Just a touch more lane trimming, but now I have to replace the tree trimmer I just bought, Chad broke it. Dick. LOL. Other than that, Im set.

We leave ours up year round. All ladders. Put 3 up in late May. And did maintenance on the rest. Have one more to move next weekend.
