Truck Opinions....

I have a 25 Ram 1500 4x4 4 door with 5’ bed. I6 auto, 450 hp twin turbo. Pros: Quiet, 24 mpg, powerful (twice as much as my father’s 5.9 hemi), roomy and comfortable. Cons: the dipstick is built into the digital cluster panel so it doesn’t physically have one. That was hard for my brain to discover. 37k miles on it already.

I'm on the same page as J.. F... this whole turbo shit... Just another thing to go wrong... And this bullshit of shutting down cylinders on the highway... This is causing problems with valves and who knows what else is wearing out premature... For what I ask??? To save the environment... What the hell not long ago we sent 5 bitches up for a space ride... What did that accomplish??? How much pollution did that rocket put in the atmosphere??? Only vehicle that doesn't have a turbo charger is the Nissan Frontier, gonna go sit in one and maybe take it for a test spin...Oh let's not forget that vehicles today shut off at lights etc then start back up... Nah... That can't be putting strain on the battery, the starter motor etc.... Guess that gives the auto industry some guaranteed income replacing these items.... Give me the good old days of a 230 straight six, 283,327,396,427 eight cylinders... Simple tuneup .... Plugs,points and condenser.... No filler gauge, set the points with a match book... Ok rant over....

Same here with the turbo shit. One of the reasons we got the Rav is because the 2024 still came with the standard four cylinder no turbo. Was supposed to go to turbo in 2025 but they continued it. The start stop bullshit you can shut off as soon as your start it with a switch on the dash so that’s good also. My 2018 Colorado has the drop cylinder crap that I don’t like. I feel like it’s a ticking time bomb and don’t have faith in it. Has 76k on it.

3/4 WT trim Silverado with 6.6L gasser is cheaper than anything uve looked at, and more truck. Just a thought to not rule out next step up if not interested in bells n whistles.

That sounds like a work truck with no back seat... I definitely want a big back seat... I also haven't ruled out an SUV either....
 
Did Chevy come out with a new model in their Colorado line... Friend saw this out in Illinois on a newer Colorado...

So yesterday I stopped at a Nissan dealer to check out the Frontier and the Pathfinder SUV.... Forget the Frontier as it felt like a toy .. Back seat has no room and my red wagon when I was a kid was bigger than the bed... The Pathfinder wasnt all that big inside as well... Plus I'd never figure out all the dials and buttons inside... There was a dial for different road conditions and I don't mean the 4 wheel drive one... There was a paddle on the steering wheel volume in case you wanted to manually shift gears... WTF it's a luxury vehicle, if I wanted to shift gears just make it a manual gear shift with a big Hurst shifter on the floor... Buttons, buttons buttons all electronic shit that can and will go wrong... There was a button that said ATR... Salesman said NO.NO DONT PUSH THAT... IT ACTIVATES THE " AUTOMACTIC TAMPON REMOVER "..... So Nissan is out ..

Tried to warn ya....pls, seriously, go look at a 3/4 gasser. I think you'll be surprised that theyre cheaper than the higher trim package 1/2 tons and you will get way more truck.
 
Adam.. checked out a few 2500's... They run a little more than the 1500's and with bigger engines the gas consumption would be more..
