Must be year dependant more than I thought. I had an 2008 F250 for two days test driving. Hooked up our tractor with attachments and that thing needed airbags, bad.

FIL'S 2010 F150 was even worse with my trailer and firewood.

Or maybe your sagging in the front? Worn out springs? I had a 95 F-150 that sat like that after I put a beefed up set of leafs on it....

have you looked at adjusting your torsion bars in the front. might get it level without having much money in it. dont know if it will change how it rides

I've only got about 12,000 miles on this kit but so far I have zero regrets about doing it. In fact, I like it so much I think any truck I buy from here on out will have a lift and level kit thrown under it. In the future though I may go a different route with like Bilstein adjustable shocks or something. The level kits are nice because they're cheap, but they do affect the ride somewhat. I know they claim that isn't the case, but IMO it definitely is. It still rides good, but there's a noticeable difference from stock.

While reading about lift kits, I stumbled onto some comments on YouTube. Said you should always have alignment checked when lifting or leveling. That you will surely be glad that you did.

You may look up available factory options for your year truck. Some had an extra payload pkg (not sure of wording) I do believe.

You can make almost any truck look good with a leveling kit and nice tires, and a leveling kit is really pretty cheap. I haven't heard much of front end problems on them either. Now if you go put a 4 inch lift and 35s on it, yeah I'd say you would have some front end problems. Like rick said, just make sure you get it aligned after you get the leveling kit on. I made the mistake of not doing that, and it wore my front tired bad.

I leveled mine. Only thing it has bothered is when I put the 4WD in on pavement (those days when its slushy or something) it bounces a little. Other than that, it hasn't hindered the ride at all.

When I haul stuff it does look silly though. Looks like I'm riding a wheelie.

Buy a Chevy....

I just drove one for a year. Put 52K miles on it. Not impressed. They are city trucks IMO. Ride nice, look good, don't hold up to the oilfield (or back country roads). I may have had a lemon, but our whole fleet was less than impressive. "Built Ford Tough" is laughable to some, but my experience has been it's generally the truth. I like our Chevy Traverse and will give Chevy the nod for SUVs, but I doubt I ever buy a Chevy truck. To each his own though. They do make a sharp looking ride.

Totally agree. Most of our fleet is GM and they are anything but impressive. I do like Chevy's cars and SUV lineup though.

To each their own you are right. Ive had 4 fullsize chevy pickups over the last 20 years. Loved every one of them. Next to zero problems with any of them. Still driving a 2001 4wd with 181,000 miles on it and Ive beat the shit out of it...pulled boats and trailers, hauled tons of firewood. Still on the original transmission and exhaust. Everything works. Not bad for a 16 year old truck.

I'm a bigger fan of money then I am too manufacturer.... I've had them all and had some form of issues with everyone of them.... That's too be expected when you keep them for 180K plus.... But like Chad, my 01 Chevy got used and on some occasions abused... Never an issue with the drive train so much as electrical and some worn body parts such as door hinges....
Ford was mostly routine maintenance with a clutch and all the trimmings swapped out that is going too happen.... It was a 95 and succumbed too rust....
For me it's what will save me money in the purchase/finance down the road.... Two of my trucks were salvage rebuilds... But they were done right..... Saved a ton of money but could have went the other way as well....
Buy what makes you comfortable and hopefully it works out.... Most of the times it does.... Sometimes ..... Not so much....
