I hate how they are in the thousands right now, once season comes in....they all dissapear. Ohios Turkey season is way to late. We should be on them sooner IMO

Yep. Flocks blow up before season. Alex made a good analogy one time. It's like a nuclear bomb goes off and the shockwave spreads out. Turks do the same when the hens get mouthy and start battling for dominance. The flock blows up into groups of hens and they spread out far and wide.

Dale has footage of about 1000 turkeys pouring off this hill. Season comes around, not a one in sight.
Awesome pic!! Gets the blood flowing that's for sure. As far as season coming in earlier, be careful what you wish for. While the hunting may be better earlier, the season is designed to come in after the majority of the breeding has already taken place. If we start interfering too much, trouble will follow.
