Sweating like a whore on nickel day. Just ran a half mile down a hill through a cow pasture and up a ridge into the woods to set up on a bird I spotted.

Outside
2 groups of jakes. Tom to the west and tom to the east. All within 200 yards on the roost. Setup in the middle of all of them. In a grassy woods. Not even one came in. And the one tom is still gobbling right now. He went the opposite direction.

Awesome stuff tootall! Hang in there chad it'll happen.

Travis busted a jake this morning that we thought was a bearded hen. He was with hens but never gobbled or strutted in the hour they worked towards us. He might have busted a half strut when they initially hit the field but it was 300 yards off. Took them an hour to work towards us.

Congrats Travis ! That damn bird was sporadic with his gobbles. After his 5th, I could tell he was finally going in the opposite direction. I decided to chase him down. After about 300 yards, his gobbling picked up. I was getting pumped, & then I ran into the property line. He stayed put about 70 yards out for a spell, but then I heard some cutting leading him astray. He was getting excited, but not to my sexy purring. I inadvertently left my glasses where I was sitting, so back to the beginning.

Mimic everything those hens do, Kevin. That pisses them off and a lot of times she'll come in and bring the gobbler with her.

Thanks Chad. I stayed out until 11. I was hearing that gobbler again, thinking he may head back. I went about to about where I last was with him & .... nothing. I had groups of deer everywhere, I'm really excited about this property.
