I ended up cutting the stock down on my 1st gun, a savage single barrel. Painted it camo and put a red dot on it for Drew. Addy took it over after he got his 1187.
I have a Belgian made A5 light 20 with a fixed mod choke that was my great grandfathers. I'd love to shoot a turkey with it but I'm limited to 2 3/4 loads. When Federal got rid of that hevi load and went to the TSS ones they quite making the 2 3/4.

My buddy from Ky gave me the gun he had set up for his son to youth hunt .
It's a topper that was cut down and accepts choke tubes . It has a shortened stock as well with a thick recoil pad . It's a sweet little gun I would probably carry occasionally if it wasn't for the red dot . I really don't like optics on a turkey gun but the red dot works well forthright kiddo .
It's a fact a lot of the breeding is going on before season opens, starting as early as March in some cases. Season is timed in a way that many to most hens are bred before we start blowing all the baby daddies to pieces.
