'Twas The Night Before Christmas 2025...

Merry Christmas, y'all!
We had fun hanging out with my sister, BIL, and parents last night, then entertained my in-laws today. I made a proper holiday feast with taters, noodles, green beans, brussel sprouts, ham, and prime rib. Been a great day watching the girls light up with excitement as they opened gifts, then eating and drinking like a king.

I just realized I've left the house once today to fill the wood boiler. Mom came over. Father in law came over. Talked to our out of state daughter and son in law via video call. Lazy day around the house. Feels a good bit weird to be honest. Kids are grown up. My dad and my mother in law have passed away. No running all over with little kids to different houses. I guess I'm in between chapters of life. Not sad. Just in a temporary holding pattern I suppose. Bit of a surreal moment. I say this mainly for the Jesse's and Joe's and all you guys caught up in the hustle and bustle of young kids during the holidays. As crazy busy as it seems at times, when they say soak it all in. . . .they mean it. That said, next year at this time I will be a grandpa. For now I will be lazy the rest of the evening, because next Christmas is probably going to be a whirlwind. To be truthful, my wife already bought our unborn grand daughter an outfit for next Christmas.

Spot on Phil…. Grandmas rule, and let them. Grandpas don’t come into the picture until later on. Once they start walking and talking. Then it’s grandpa time….. Walks, throwing rocks in the crick, and all the stupid stuff that connection brings with it…. @4 years old the fun is just starting with our grandson….
I've been taking notes from you, and @Dannmann801 and @CJD3 . We have plenty of wise elders around here. Plenty of guys like me are listening to you. It is appreciated. And I'm sitting here chuckling to myself thinking about how fast the rest of the guys are going to get to the spot I am.
