Almost looks like a yellow perch hybridized with a logperch darter.

I searched pictures of the 2 for about an hour this morning. I did find some perch with the V stripes, but nothing like this. Most stripes I could find was 9 on my search also.

If it were bigger, I’d kept and had it mounted. Prob once in a lifetime…. Who knows

That really is a cool looking fish! Congrats! It would be interesting to know what caused the odd markings.
