US Military switching to hollow point bullets

Looks like the US Military will be switching to hollow point bullets in the 9MM. The US never signed the Hague Convention over 100 yrs. ago so are not bound by the requirement of full metal jacket only bullets.
This sure as hell will set the world on fire in protest.
I wonder if the 5.56 Nato, 308 and 50 calibers is next? At least for a sniper rounds.

Military already does in rifle rounds..Mk262. A 5.56 round using a 77 grain Open tip match boat tailed hollow point..I would guess they have some others as well?

We also use SIERRA Match Kings for some of our larger caliber sniper rounds.

I've carried hollow points in the m9 only while flying in the past. Once you got on the ground you had to rearm to fmj. That is a good move for 9mm.
