I'm posting this using my Verizon phone (not on wifi)

Mine just shows SOS and will only offer satellite connectivity for phone and text.
Works fine on WiFi….

My gf and her whole family are on iphones. They are all out. My Samsung is motoring along with no issues so far.

That's similar to whatothers here at work are experiencing

Looks like Verizon is having a huge outage, we are down on some phones here in NC.

We have very little cell phone signal at the house, our phones are connected to the internet so we can use them. We’re one step above SOS here on the compound…..
