Today is a day that should live in everyone's memories for ever. On this day in 1944 our military stormed the beaches of Normandy. These were Men who had big brass balls that clinked when they walked. These weren't the pussies you see walking around today, these weren't Men who would decide half way into their tour of duty to leave their post and join the enemy. These were Men who would change the future of not only our nation but others as well. These were Men who would come to be known as the Greatest Generation. I cant say I disagree. So if you are having a bad day, or you are sad b/c you missed your favorite show last night, suck it up. Your life could be a whole lot worse. You could have been on one of those boats, walking into almost certain death. Remember why you are speaking English right now, and not German.

I had the privilege of being part of a reenactment for the 50th anniversary. While on an AAV heading towards the beach I could only imagine what those heroes on that day could have been thinking. Thank you to all of them.
Truth of the matter is, most of them never felt comfortable with the term hero..... They just did what needed too be done.... And lost a lot friends and brothers in the process......
A true hero doesn’t do it to be called a hero, that’s what makes them hero’s.
