Who won in the fight?I knew a cool officer once. 2nd lt Lynn. Cute little blond number fresh out of college and OCS. Liked hanging out in the 3rd floor day room and various other rooms of the enlisted barracks. Met a couple of really knowledgeable warrant officers. As for the commissioned officers I served under, bah, give me a good E-6.
I take that back. When I was in Korea I worked in a signal unit at Yongsan. I was between an E-1 and E-3, A couple of times I had to go fix this full bird's encrypted messaging card over in what we called the White House. It was the command HQ for the armed forces in Korea. One day I was in his office and mentioned I was about to PCS back stateside. He asked what award I was getting. I laughed knowing that in the last year I had accumulated a company grade and field grade Article 15. I told him about it. He sat for a minute and asked me what I did. I told him one was for drinking underage, the other was for drinking and fighting. He started laughing and asked if it was on duty, no sir, on the town. He stood up and said "Sounds like a damn fine soldier to me, drinking, fighting and fucking should be a core Army value.

Went in for new hearing aids at the JACC VA yesterday and they were handing out cards randomly as vets checked in.
