Found I was picked to be a Guardian for the Honor Flight from Cincy to D.C. September 17th. I havent been to DC since 5th grade. Im very excited. Ive been trying to go for a while now. Bonus, Gorilla Glue pays for me to go.

Tomorrow is the Honor Flight. I have to be at the Cincy AP by 5, Wheels up at 0730. Ive talked to my Vet 2X now and he is very excited for tomorrow. Initially it was calling for 100% rain tomorrow, now, thankfully, its down to 25%. Its going to be a very long day, but very rewarding too. Ill post the pics later in the week,
At the airport at 445. My Vet is chock full of energy lol. His mom and dad were in the Dutch army and were in prison camps. He was born in Indonesia, moved to Holland and became nationalized. Spent 8 years there then his parent brought them to Kentucky. Nationalized here, joined the Navy in 67 and stayed in until 1990. He's a trip. It's gonna be a good day.

Ft. Myer is right around the corner from the Iwo Jima memorial…we used to patrol it when I was an MP stationed there. There are six men raising the flag but there are 13 hands on the statue….the extra hand is said to be the hand of god.
