Did anyone happen to read the equity and inclusion BS language in issue 2? I did, and it got a no from me due to it. I'm so sick of that stuff. Doesn't matter, not like they needed my vote anyways.
I read that too. Not a fan.

The abortion law is bad. It looked like a lot of very wide open language in there. Looks like if you have the right doctor they will just about let you abort it in the delivery room. Sick stuff and it passed by a landslide. Disgusting.

Planned Parenthood is hiring a bunch more baby murderers today. I'm unapologetic about my views here since having a child of my own I've doubled down, abortion is murder. There should be some exceptions but very few. They say they stand for womens rights, tell that to all the unborn little girls they are going to kill. There is an extra hot space in hell for those doctors and I hope they burn well.

I keep saying people are underestimating the power behind abortion in these bills and people running that support them. Just look at Virginia and, will say again, Michigan. Most of those people elected on the D side wouldn't have had a chance but the power of abortion and so called women's right to choose is way more powerful. You cannot use logic and see all the bad shit in those bills and expect people to see it our way. They're so afraid of losing more so called rights because of the Roe vs. Wade reversal they aren't even seeing straight and the D's are capitalizing on it...big time.

I changed my wording to soften my opinion. I wasn't trying to start a debate on it and clutter up the thread. I do agree with you all but respect that not everyone will. I also realize I won't change anyone's opinion. Gern is spot on with "the decay of society continues".

I won't soften my opinion on it. Killing babies isn't right regardless of any other political or religious beliefs.
But on the other hand it isn't right for political views or religious beliefs to control somebody's choices. I live by if it doesn't effect me or my family I don't give a fugg what anyone else does if you wanna be a druggie be a druggie if you wanna make that decision not to have a kid not my problem either. Every issue is designed to separate the people and that's the way they want it.

It doesn't impact Ohio but Mississippi voted yesterday also. I didn't foresee the leftist issues in Ohio getting any better so we looked for a place that was solid red and didn't have a chance of one or two big cities dictating the rest of the state like we're seeing in Ky and Va

On another note: It was the Ms abortion legislation that resulted in the supreme court case that reversed Roe V Wade and returned it to a state issue.

State Level

Governor - Republican
Lt Governor - Republican
Attorney General- Republican
Secretary of State- Republican
State Auditor - Republican
State Treasurer - Republican
State Senate - Republican Control 36 / 16
State House - Republican Control 79 / 41
Agriculture Commissioner- Republican
Auditor- Republican
Insurance Commissioner- Republican
Treasurer- Republican
Public Services Commissioner / Southern- Republican
Transportation Commissioner / Southern- Republican

At the County / City level

City Mayor - Republican
Board of aldermen - All Republican
Chancery Clerk - Republican
Circuit Clerk - Republican
Tax Assessor - Republican
District supervisor - Republican
Sheriff - Republican

As long as everyone knows how to play nice i appreciate good debate. I also feel the inability of adults in today's society to NOT be able to agree to disagree without the loss of respect for one another is one of our biggest issues.
If republicans don’t play their cards right, this abortion issue will sink them. A majority of Americans are in the middle on this meaning most agree to reasonable measures (1st trimester), very few believe no exceptions.
Depending on how you describe today's Republicans they've already lost.

Agreed. However the left is really taking advantage of the average persons stupidity. The MS issue that was challenged in court which led to the reversal of Roe had a few restrictions. For example it was legal in the first trimester but the pro death special interest didn't like provisions around the prohibition of funding and methods. They didn't like that the state limited Obamacare coverage to rape, incest, and life threatening health issues. In an effort to dissuade the pro death crowd from taking it federal, Ms enacted what it called trigger legislation. Meaning if the pro death crowd lost and Roe V Wade was overturned then a complete ban was to take effect immediately. A "You can push the issue but if you lose here is what the consequence will be" situation. So as of now the trigger ban is in and abortions are illegal except to preserve the life of the pregnant person, or in cases of rape or incest that was reported to law enforcement.

When talking with some (here in Michigan) last year when our abortion bill came out their thought was yeah it is beyond extreme, being able to abort a baby up until the end of pregnancy, but they felt it was more important to get the right back.....period. Then they were OK with letting the law makers later clarifying the laws if not modifying them slightly. It was so important to them that it carried over and got Gretchen Whitmer re-elected simply because her competitor was so vocal on Right To Life. Whitmer was and still is the most hated governor our state has seen because of the Covid BS, even by these same people I'm talking about. Didn't matter and it won't matter around the country with this topic controlling elections.

The biggest issue with abortion is that it has been sold as a clean issue…. It’s a woman’s right to choose. It’s birth control. It isn’t a viable human…. Blah blah. Watch a video of an abortion and you’ll not call it anything but murder.

Murdering of babies is exempt from anyone's personal liberties. If someone stuck a drill in newborns head and pulled out their brains would it be okay because it was their choice? I get the libertarian viewpoint you are talking about, but this isnt about personal choice. It's murdering of a living innocent being.

Agreed. I am personally against it. Rape or risk of mothers life would be where I understand it.

Here are the issues: abortion is NOT birth control. In many settings if they outlaw abortion then the population goes crazy. That is an education issue. Lack of responsibility issue. Decay of society issue. It leads to more govt dependence and mouths feeding off the system. Don't take that wrong. I don't think abortion should be legal because we will get more dependents on the system if it is illegal. I think those people need education, birth control, and responsibility. The other side of this is the more Libertarian viewpoint. They should be able to do as they wish ***if it doesn't affect others. The third trimester abortions are murder in my eyes. How extreme does it need to be? Take the life of their infant and call it an abortion?

How about a 3 or 4 year old? 16 year old? As long as they are under 18? This is a slippery slope. I agree with the rape exception or actual health of the mother.
