Deer can get Nasal Bots. Basically the same type of thing lives in their nasal passages, sinuses and other hollow spots like under the tongue etc. Doesn't hurt the deer or get inside any tissue like Warbels. They just hide out in the cavities of the sinuses, nose and upper throat, like behind tonsils. They have not been reported from the Great Plains, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee or Alabama. But range from the deep south all the way to Alberta. Nobody knows why they aren't in some states like Ohio, but are in all surrounding states. Most times hunters never see them because we discard the heads or take them whole to the taxy. But sometimes when they are hanging and getting cold the bots will fall out the nose or mouth.
