Hot. High of 88 Sat, 87 Sun in my area. I've been counting down until opening day ever since I started shooting a recurve and now I think I'm going to wait until Weekend 2. I may get restless and decide to hunt a morning on public this Saturday, still not sure. Advanced forecast does show a cool down for the weekend of Oct 5, for whatever that's worth.

Who all is going out regardless of the heat?

I missed the opener 4 yrs in a row for perch fishing, wish I could do again. I'll be working Saturday but don't care at all. I won't think of deer hunting until a sweatshirt is needed. I do see a 45degree night in the future cast!!!!!

I'm going. mornings only when it's this warm. I'll be in observation mode unless a TV buck shows up and begs me for an arrow. sometimes it's nice to just sit in the woods for the sake of doing so. I'll probably take my mower over and mow one last time after a morning hunt.

I'll be out. The Amount of deer I've seen the last few weeks when it's been that hot has been crazy not to go. Gonna enjoy some time with my daughter and buddy from Tennessee.

I'll be out on public land opening morning, anything goes. Ideally, shoot my doe for meat on public so I can keep our good stands fresh for horns. The particular spot I plan to hunt on public, I've seen good bucks early season. So I'm not ruling it out. At the end of the day, I'm more excited about the tree stand therapy. It's here brothers!

Ill be out Sat evening for traditions sake. Ive seen at least 8-10 does in the field behind the house regardless of the heat so I might try and take one early this year. Although I think I say that every year and dont actually shoot a doe till Dec...........so we'll see, haha

Thought about passing due to the forecast, but as others have mentioned "tradition" and "tree-stand therapy" have me preparing for a toasty opening weekend in the stand. Last year was the first year I've shot something on opening day - mature doe. It really changed the season for me, pressure was off to get meat. It allowed me to hunt better the rest of the year. Passed on some younger bucks, that I might have otherwise considered shooting at the end of the season. Gonna try that same strategy this year. If a big buck happens to be out for a stroll near my stand.... even better.

Will only do evening hunts till later in October.
Not sure on this weekend but next Fri and Sat for sure with the cooler weather forecast after 90 degree temps next week.

I'm just hoping the extended forecast stays accurate. Or at least close. If it stays in the upper 60's for highs it should be really good.

Saturday morning I think I'm going to do an observation sit on some public. If nothing else, I need a good real-world test run with the Tree Saddle.
