Weekend of October 6-7th

They were moving at my farm tonight! My cousin and I sat about 250 yards apart and between the 2 of us we saw 18! We both saw a shooter but weren't able to connect.
 
Time to make the donuts!

Going to a stand close to where the truck was last night. Big bucks love to snuggle up to the road houses I guess. Hundreds of acres and he stays by the residence....go figure. Goes to show that you should listen to the landowners.
 
Just got home from camping, gotta clean the camper out. Then I will be ready for some seat time tonight. Good luck to all out today.
 
I got skunked again this morning. Pulled my mobile set and I'm gonna set up on a creek crossing tomorrow morning. The wind is supposed to move to SW by tomorrow morning, so my spot should be huntable. I'd prefer a wind straight from the S, but SW will do I guess.
 
Saw a huge doe, a ton of tree rats and enjoyed the peace and quite..... Well that is besides the tree rats :smiley_clap: Still a great day too be out... Plus my buddy finally made it out and he saw deer too boot.... All an all a good morning too be out.... Taking the afternoon off oo spend with the family, my sisters in from Atlanta and we're hosting dinner tonight with her.... Hope all who are going out have a great sit.... I honestly haven't gotten my bow out of the case to even look at it this year. I have taken the kids hunting 5 times so far, and we haven't seen a deer in the last 3 sits. It doesnt sound like I've missed a whole lot yet by reading most of the reports so far. And yes, thank goodness for that government holiday tomorrow....and thanks to Chris Columbus for sailing the seas lol.....im heading to put up 4 treestands tomorrow and looking forward to getting away to spend the day in the woods.
 
Saw squirrels and some long beards this afternoon.

Had a deer come in, noticed him about 50 and watched him come in...big bodied spike buck. He came all the way into 5 yards but I passed...he didn't spook but when he went off, I learned a new travel path. Including hanging the stand and tonight's sit, I've seen deer every time there. I bumped several walking out, so I figured it's a good spot for the time being.

Yes Gern, here's to malaria, beads, and blankets, I'll be out in the AM or PM ..

Oh, and tonight was my first time hanging and sitting in my new Millenium 100 - that thing is the tits!

You're gonna have a hard time sitting in that pack n stack ladder stand from here on out! lol
 
Saw nothing but a coyote on sat morning...Got excited cause I called him back in. Rushed the shot....went a little over his back. Pretty cool experience though.
 
I saw quite a few deer on my travel yesterday along US 30 from home towards the mansfield area. There were several different bucks and a lot of does out late in the morning and early in the evening on the way home. The deer seemed to be feeding in the standing beans.
