Welding camp

I had a Chicago welder from Harbor Freight for years and I just got a Titanium welder from them. Both flux core. The Titanium is actually pretty decent...given my skills. I screwed around on it and eventually made some great stuff. I learned about wire speed, penetration, blowing through thin metal! Lol It's cheap and it won't set you back a ton. I definitely reccommend getting it to play with. No gas needed and operates on 110v!

That’s really cool, Clay. Hopefully it becomes a passion of his. Do whatever you can to support and nurture it. If the time comes when he gets serious, look into the Lincoln Electric Welding School in Cleveland. I hear it’s one of the best around. My buddy’s son went there several years ago and he’s now one heck of a welder.

Some weld porn for you boys. The guy that laid this stack of dimes is a Monroe County farm boy who learned to do this on the farm from his dad and grandpa. They said his first weld test was like watching Bo Jackson take batting practice in college. Everyone just stopped and watched. When this company ships work to project sites, people gawk and refuse to believe it was done by hand.
