What did you do for the deer today?

If anyone has an established clover plot, now would be a great time to mow it one last time before the bow opener. Moisture and cool temps in the forecast are going to lessen the stress on your clover. And, timing-wise, the regrowth (annd resulting attractiveness) should be perfect for late September.

Another year, another rescue mission. With no recordable rain since planting these two plots 3 weeks ago, I hit them with some cereal rye tonight. With rain coming tomorrow and Saturday, I should have some decent growth in the next few weeks. One more data point to get me to pull the trigger on a drill...

You ever notice fawns tend to run away from you straight down the road when your coming at them? I ended up in a bean field before daylight Sunday morning taking my wife to the airport possibly due to these two, dashing down the side of the road before deciding to cross in front me just as the headlights hit them . I slammed on the brakes swerved through a flatter side ditch and dukes of hazard fish tailed through a few rows of beans before coming back on the road. Wife and I looked at each other she says, "at least you don't need your coffee to wake you up....."he looks like hed make decent freezer meat this winter.
