What do you think this 12 point will score?

Heck of a nice deer no doubt!!! I grossed him right at 155" as a 6x5. I have him a 15" inside spread as well. It is very challenging for anyone to be dead on a score just by looking at pictures, no matter how many angles you have. I don't give a flip what they net anymore but my guess would be in the mid 140's which means he's OBB and that means he's a very nice buck! I'd shoot him all day long even though he might just be a 3.5 year old.

A bucks antlers change from one season to the next. Just because they have a 10" g3 one year doesn't always mean they get longer. Mass and addition of more tines may make up the extra growth as well. IMO

Goodluck with him 150+! Hope you guys get him on the ground this year or next.

Oh, I know finelyshedded. We usually find the sheds of the deer we end up killing, and it is neat to see what changes they have made over the years. I know they can go downhill on some measurements, but the pics we got of this deer last year, and this year are in the exact same location. You can actually see the same trees in the background. The G3 last year was just about 11". If you compare it to this years pics it is noticeably longer this year. I am going to say you guys are close, and I think I am close too. Just depends on what direction the measurements lean. He might have a little less mass than I was thinking, but I think his tines are fooling everyone a bit. I've been moving cameras all over the place trying to see where this thing is staying during the day time so My Dad can get an oppurtunity at him. I know there are some people who hunt around our farm that would shoot him, and thats what puts him on the hit list for my Dad.Like My Dad, and I talked about. If we had complete control over all the area around here where we knew he would survive the hunters at least. We would pass him, but you can't pass up a 150"+ buck without having total control.

I too think he's going to touch the 150s, just based on being pretty dead accurate within 5 inches. I was less than 6 inches off a ridiculously massive NT 214 my boss's son shot last year. One of those awful decisions you have to make about shooting an incredible deer, once in a lifetime for many of us, or letting him walk another two years and possibly killing a 200 inch deer, once in a lifetime for .1 of hunters....

And I hate to be that guy, but I seriously don't know how you came up with 143 out of your 8. That's a deer I would die to shoot, but would never guess him above 135. I just would have to put a tape to him myself to believe it, or like you said, possibly see it in person.

His 8 looks a lot like my dads... He had it scored by a OBB scorer. What do you think this one netted?

I'll apologize again. I thought the score was 143 1/8, but turns out the 3 was a 2! So its 142 1/8. Heres the measurements.

Again, not trying to be a dick or anything... But who scored that deer??? A soda can is 4.8" tall. Your shortest brow tine does not appear to be even close to the height of the pop can in the pictures, yet the measurement for the shortest brow tine is 4 7/8"???? And some of the other measurements don't appear to be correct when compared to the pop can. It just looks like some generous measuring to me. Either that, or whoever scored it wasn't completely certain where the measurement starts.

Not taking anything away from the deer or your accomplishment... It's still a great 8-point... One I'd be happy to shoot myself. But I can see why there are some skeptics of its score here.

Again its the pictures. The browtine on the left side curves backward, and the other comes straight up so it looks different when lying flat like that on the ground. The left brow is just about the same as the pop can. The angle of the brow pointing towards the ground makes it look shorter than it is, because it is basically at an angle on the pop can. You can kinda see how they curve in the pics. Though that doesn't really matter. I wouldn't care if this deer scored 110. It was a 5.5 year old deer that we passed up for years, and finally we decided he was never going to be anything better. It was a big challenge for My Father, and I to take him. I got most of the hunt on video which was another cool thing to add to it, but we were out of light for the camera to film when I finally got a shot. I'm done defending scores or bickering about guessing score. I really don't like being tested on scoring deer I don't care about. I was just debating what I thought the 12 could possibly be....I never set anything in stone it was just guesses. I never said any of you were wrong. I never said I was 100% right. You guys might have took the things I was saying wrong. I was honestly just wanting JBrowns opinions on what he thought I overestimated. I didn't say that I was 100% right, and didn't say its ludicrous you think I overestimated. lol I was just asking what his suggestions were. I am not a person to argue, and thats not what I was trying to do with anybody. In all reality chatting on the forums doesn't give you the full effect of how the person is responding or talking to you. I was simply talking about what I thought it might be, and asking, and explaining my reasons for thinking that. I'd rather end this subject. I really enjoy coming on here, and reading your guys stories, and sharing info with you all. I'm sorry if I rubbed anybody the wrong way, but like I said you can't hear the tone in my voice, or see the emotions I'm using when I type to you. Nothing was meant to be hasty or argumentative towards anyone. Just simple debating I guess.
