I fished the Walleye Run, in the Maumee River, during March and April of 2025....yet, I never caught the first Walleye. 
However, I did catch a Buffalo that I fought for a solid 10 minutes and finally was able to drag him onto the shore. This has been the biggest fish and longest fighting time for a fish that I've caught.
About 2 weeks later I managed to catch a 29" Channel Cat.

Seeing @Bowhunter57 Maumee River post, jogged a memory from 7ish years ago. Caught a Coho out of the Maumee late September while fly fishing for carp. Had to hand off my rod to a guy with an ICP tattoo while I traversed down the dam. Yet another tale to be told another day
