What would you do?

Pass, but he definitely has potential. As a lifelong WV hunter I've had fun passing on deer in OH that would have hit the ground in WV. Now I just need to put more time in so I can find one to hit the ground in OH.

First pics of him this year and he popped 2 brow tines. Looks like he is on his way to being a dandy provided he stays hidden!

Early season - probably pass
Late season - death sentence

Honestly? I'd shoot his ass
It's just where I am in my hunting career.

Good mass, but the lack of brows and the future potential in the original picture would have gotten him a free pass from me as well. Looking better this year but I would have to make the call from the tree stand. Maybe one more year, then he will be a definite wall hanger.

Being that I'm new to hunting my motto is "if it's brown it's down". But it would be nice to let it go and see the development.

He is still hangin around, I am hopin he stays put for the next year! Pretty cool video of him either telling the doe to share or just showing off. Either way its pretty cool. Bushnell Trophy Cam is pretty cool, I think the lock box hurts the sound a little bit but its worth the piece of mind.

Check out this video on YouTube:

http://youtu.be/UJqjRiqFozc

That is a nice buck, still looks young to me.

His brow tines sure are way up his beams

Which trophy cam? I have 3 now, one 435, two 436, and plan on buying a HD this week.

I get to know the deer on the cameras so well that I hate to shoot them. I always hope a stranger wanders through that I don't know:)

Us too Lundy, it seems like we are heading in the right direction trying to keep him on our property. He is a regular on our cams and we have 7 out on the property.

That is the Bushnell HD, so far I haven't found anything wrong with the video except I can't watch it in full HD!!!

Go with your gut.

The best way to become a better deer hunter is to hunt deer and kill them. If this buck trips your trigger, and it feels "right" if / when he steps out in front of you, then kill him. If you have 1 single reservation about killing him, then don't. And don't have any regrets no matter what your decision is. It's hunting, and it's not catch & release. Good luck & most importantly, have fun!!

Great post Sean!

Thanks for sharing that video buckstar25! That was pretty neat stuff! It appeared he was showing off in front of that doe and when she wasn't paying him any attention he started slapping those two saplings trying to get her attention. Lmao

She walks off and he looks over and says....WTH do I have TOO do?!? Lol
