Thats an old favorite of mine. My grandfather used to make it for me and tell me his army stories.

That is one of Ron and my favorites! We always called it Dried beef gravy and biscuits. Served it with peas on the side where the gravy mixed in with it....good stuff!!!

I make "SOS" quite often. I add a slightly running over easy egg on top of the bread then add the gravy. Mmm...mmm

Looks great all.

I have 4 pieces of cast iron available for sale. I can't use them on my new glass top stove.

1 griddle-double sided
1 large skillet-13 inch maybe
1 small skillet-round
1 small skillet-square

$ 40.00

I need a dutch oven. Where did you get yours Kevin?

I got mine on Ebay. It's a 4 qt 10" that's 3 1/2 deep. It's a Camp Chef brand from Apple Creek, Ohio. I already have deeper ovens , so I wanted something not so deep. It also has a whitetail head on the lid, so I could resist... for $42 altogether. I'm seeing others on Ebay that are deeper, like a 12" 6 qt right now for a really good price.

That's a pretty good deal Kevin. Will be looking for some pics of some tasty vittles cooked in that thing....

My Dutch oven usually runs my wife out of our bed...:pickle:

Ok, here we are with another segment of " The Dutch Oven Is Your friend " series. I like the ring to it, so I will stick with that.Feel free to include your D.O. cooking just the same. As promised, I used my new 10" D.O. to make pizza for supper tonight. Tuesdays are normally my " wing nights", where the wife & I go to our Moose Lodge for wings, so as an added bonus, I made my own.... again, as an appetizer. All of what I share here are tidbits of what the possibilities will be for cooking at Deer Camp. I'm gonna aim for my normal camp & then at Strouds TOO, which I consider somewhat normal....lol

Who can resist a D.O. like this ....

Ahhh, the preparation ....

So beautiful ...

Oh yes, the wings, what's left of 'em....

... & what we've all been waiting for ....

Yeah, I get excited :):)

Ok, I ordered ANOTHER D.O. over the weekend. This time oval, so my next segment will be ..... ribs !!!! :)

I broke it in last night on BBQ'd chicken. Tonight it's a shrimp and parm t-bone. The wife is getting a blue cheese crumbled ribeye. Corn, taters, salads, and bread. All while trying to watch a 5 month old! lmao

We'll see how she does on steaks. The chicken was spot on...
