Should be a big spread today. 18 adults plus some kids. We are providing turkey, stuffing, sweet potato casserole and deviled eggs. Everyone else is bringing something TOO

Had this last nite, the inside loin from the belly side of a blackfin fillet.

My boy Zak, got an appointment to USAFA in '09 and his language was Japanese so they sent him to Japan for 2 weeks each summer, twice he spent with a family that ran a sushi restaurant on the main island. Plum wine is from the family he stayed with. Was absolutely great .

Braised boneless deer neck roast (in the spirit of osso buco), mashed turnips garnished with fried sage leaves. I will never grind the meat from a deers’ neck again as long as I live.

It’s been a minute since I’ve posted a din din pic but tonight was steak/salad night. Steaks were smothered in mushies.

Cooking 2# of navy beans this evening. Pork sausage, homemade tasso, deer smoke sausage, 2 onions and a whole bell pepper. Added some Targil Cajun seasoning.
