You wouldn't want to buy a piece of ground in SE Oh for cheap just to hunt on? Sure, someone already made millions from the ground, but the top is still good for some stuff.

Nope. Ill never buy a piece of land just for hunting. $100,000 at 4.25% is about 5 grand a year. that's a nice lease. And I can pick a different lease whenever I want, and don't have to worry about neighbor Jim bob the new shalionaire shooting everything up thinking he's Michael Waddell and me being stuck with a worthless piece of dirt I don't even own minerals on.

My dad took the boys up to Lisbon today for their hunter safety course. After a few years of apprentice licenses, they are now official.
Glad that's all done!

He did me a huge favor as I practiced my high school baseball team outside for the first time this year.

We also practiced for the first time outside today and that was great! Spent a few hours at the farm getting out minerals, cameras, taking soil samples, and shed hunting some. Going to golf for the first time tomorrow! That's TOO good!!!

The Lord has been good to my family. We were just able to purchase a 5th wheel camper with small slide which will better accomodate our family's sleeping arrangements. Should be able to sell our "old" one for pretty close to what we paid for this one.

Anyone looking for a nice camper? We have a 2000 Sandpiper by Forest River 28FK for sale. No slide. Very nice camper. Pulls very straight and nicely. A/C and Heat work. Nice big awning. Plenty of storage. Currently have it winterized. Only thing I know of is the fridge doesn't work. I never looked into why it didn't work. We just packed an extra cooler and didn't worry about it. $4900 or reasonable offer. (Better) Pictures and listing to come tomorrow.

That is awesome Gordo! Looks like you were having one heckuva good time!

Yeah buddy. Vegas is always a blurr.

Apparently we bungied off the stratosphere about midnight one night.

That was a after a little argument and decided that would b just the thing that would squash it. It worked!

My soon to be 5 year old girl drew me this picture! She thinks I have 2 jobs, one being hunting... She asks all the time if I was at my "hunting job"!

What's TOO good, I was talking to a nice new employee at work last week who lives in the Cincy suburbs about our hobbies and family. He is in his 40's and has never hunted and has two children with one being an 8 year old son.
When I told him about my shed hunting and all the walking and enjoyment and exercise I get he was intrigued and never knew bucks dropped their antlers every year.
He told his son about that and over the weekend his son went crawling around the brush and weeds behind his house and came back covered from head to toe with mud and burrs but found his first shed. He showed me a pic and it looks to be from last year and was a dandy 5 point side with minimal rodent damage. Heavy TOO! At least a 60"er.
I was so pumped for him and his son! I gave the fella a tater and said, Give this TOO your boy!
He said his son was taking it to school for show and tell and can't wait to go back looking for more.

I hope and believe the seed has been planted and he and his father can do this together for years to come.

Makes me feel TOO GOOD!

I finally got rid of the Dodge and got into a 2013 Toyota Tundra. (will post pics later). This truck is the most comfortable smooth riding truck I have had yet. I got a great deal on it. Unfortunately I was having all kinds of trouble with my dodge. Tons of rust issues, transmission lines rusting, wiring rusting, oil lines, etc. Then it was ABS control module, wiring to the TPS sensors. It was nickle and diming me to death. I am pretty sure this Tundra will hold its value if I keep up on the maint. as well as I did my Dodge.

I am def. excited about it. Same payment, same term. Couldn't beat it. They also let me swap wheels off another Tundra. I didnt want the 20's(even though they looked awesome) cause of cost, so they gave me the 18's off of another, re-did the computer and gave me almost 3 grand off.

Ric- That is awesome! It would be awesome if he keeps picking your brain and eventually tries hunting. Good deed my friend.

Wayne- Congrats on your new truck.

Thanks Phil, I was just glad to see how excited this father and son were and hope it perpetuates into something special. I'll ask the father tomorrow at work if he will send me the pic of the shed and I'll post it if he does. I'll try to get one of his son holding it.
