What's good TOO?

Plumber once told me to use a piece of bread without the crust. Said it would hold back the water long enough to solder a joint..........and will pass through the line later if no screen in faucet.

Please be very careful soldering wet lines!

Joe, what was leaking? Joint or valve body/cartridge? Nice posi-temp.

Previous owner retiled with green Sheetrock backer instead of duralock and must not have sealed the grout. So the tiles were mushy. The valve was a old 1970 pos mixer. Should have been replaced when the other owner did the tile 10 years ago. If I have to tear in to it I might as well rip it all out and do it right.

.that sucks. Trying to solder with moisture in the lines above sucks.

guess i should consider myself lucky to have access to pro press fittings and a press gun. Slide the pipe into the fitting, put the gun on it pull the trigger and crimp the joint. Shrk bite fittings are expensive but they do work. The bread trick works to, but you got to be fast.

I use the press fittings also. SO convenient.

Whats good is my wife just got a new job that she starts in 2 weeks. She's been an RN for 8 years and handling Hospice care at her hospital the last 2. The other day one of the ladies at Putnam County health told her she should apply for the supervisors position with the county, basically doing what she currently does, but having all the Nurses aides underneath her. After applying and a couple interviews, the job is hers. Basically a double in Salary, plus County benefits and retirement. Im just really happy for her, she deserves it as hard as she works. And next Friday will be our 10th anniversary. With being busy at work now, Im trying to find something really special to do. (Other than anal):smiley_coolpeace:

That's great news!

Life is good!

I had a State Review scheduled for almost 2 months now. The man was nice enough to put it off for me due to the puppy litters, but waiting the extra 3 weeks for it has been stress, stress, stress.

I know how to do my job, but it is the documents that you get busted on and I've never been trained on that, so I was really nervous over all of this, especially since I had to go back 5 years on it.

Well, the man deer hunts! Nuff said. :smiley_coolpeace:

We had an enjoyable 2 hour meeting in which he looked over this month's paperwork only, checked my training courses and then wrote me up as having zero citations.

Another reason I love hunting!

By the way, my new pressure canner is here. Guess what I'll do playing with this weekend???? And if I am never heard from again due to working it incorrectly, I hope certain parties (you know who you are!) feel a wee bit guilty! lmao

Outstanding news Redhunter! Good for you, her, and the little one!

Good news for you as well Diane!

Me? My wonderful wife surprised me today. Called me up and said she arranged to switch out Saturday with a girl and work tomorrow instead. I told her yesterday she didn't have to and if I missed the bow opener I would be fine. Her reply: "I know, but I just wanted you to get out there and enjoy opening morning. You deserve it!" What a lady! I love her for the little things like this. Think I will keep her around. lol

Awesome! Congrats on her new job and your 10 year anny coming up!

ZJ is just the most amazing child. He works at a handicapped workshop 3 days a week, where he gets paid for piecework. The thing he works on most is jewelry, including football items, both college and NFL.

He also absolutely adores his 7 and 8 year old nieces and makes sure that we never miss any of their ball games, etc.

Anyway, a few days ago they asked him what he did at work and when he said he made jewelry, they said they'd like to see it sometime.

Today he comes walking in from work with a bag. Inside of it, he had them some beaded Michigan keychains and some Steelers bracelets. (The girls like OSU but ZJ doesn't! LOL)

He couldn't wait for them to get here so he could give his presents to them and they were absolutely thrilled and amazed that he made such pretty things and bought them gifts for no reason.

I was just really proud of him for showing so much love and care.

However, it seems he doesn't really understand that just because he works there and makes these items, that he can't just bring them home and pay for them the next time he goes to work! :smiley_blackeye: lmao

I've already talked to his supervisor and will be sending him with money on Monday! teeheehee
