My grandpa and I were talking about hunting today and he told me a cool story. He grew up in Carroll County just outside of dellroy. His family was "poor as church mice" and he would rabbit hunt a lot to put food on the table. He had a dog that he would take with him and he'd set on top of a sulfur pile from an old mine. The dog would get a rabbit going and almost every time it would circle right around the sulfur pile and he'd shoot them with his dads old double barrel shotgun. He also said that the county game warden lived right up the road from him and back then there was a bounty on crows. He would take a pair of crows feet too the GW and in return he'd get six shells for his shotgun. Cool story I thought I'd share. My grandpa just turned 90 back in February.

Very cool story, thanks for sharing Chad!

Good stuff Chad! We were picking berries last night and I commented to my wife about how happy we'd be to have this kind of bounty if it were 1920. I often think about the old days and how I'd have liked life back then. I do enjoy technology, but you wouldn't know what you were "missing".

What in the hell? Did Cotty leave you a beer?
No, Audrey was over in Pitt over the weekend and got those for me for fathers day. She also brought two howlers from Homestead brewing in Heath. [emoji41]

I know Jesse, I spent just over 2 hours picking berries after work last night. It was so peaceful.

I went to Pittsburgh for a ballgame 7 or 8 years ago. Great city and we had a blast. However that IC beer is awful. Bartender there told me it was recycled piss from the bathrooms at the steel mills. After tasting it I believed him.

Lmao! That's funny.

It's not the best. But, when in PNC park, it's a must. It's better than fuggin Bud or Miller light.

Great story!
My grandfather spoke of the crow bounty as well. :smiley_blink:

Today was good. I strung Zach's bow and shot a few arrows while the meat was marinating. Made a phone call to congratulate grandpa Dunne! Jim I thoroughly enjoyed our conversation and Joie says to set something up for us to come and see you. I'll send our new address when I'm done on here, but we want to come to you.

Grilled a London Broil that soaked in a garlic/ginger based marinate.[

We rolled in safe and a little tired from our wonderful vacation trip to Myrtle Beach this past week. Weather was awesome and we were very lucky to not have too many traffic tie ups on our way there or on our way back. It's just way TOO good to be back home and are very thankful to have had a great and safe trip! Having some of Ron's family and my mom join us on this trip was really special!

Got a chance to pick berries with Ron aka Full Snore. Had a real good time! He is a berry pickin' fool! I took him in the middle of some of the nastiest/thick stuff on the farm and he was all about it. Rained on us the whole time but we came out with 3.5-4 gallons of berries.
