15yrs and roughly 6 hrs ago I was in uniform manning my post at headquarters. We were running 24hr shift guarding sensitive items just a few weeks after 9-11. I'll save the minor details. It was chaotic. We were uncertain how this was going to play out. My wife had been 3cm dilated for nearly 3wks. I answered the phone "Echo Co 1st/148th. Specialist Hicks speaking. How can I help you Sir or Ma'am?" The voice on the other end of the phone was familiar I heard "Honey? My water broke. We are going to have a baby today!"

Fast forward 15 yrs and my daughter GraciAnn is 15 today. She is a special little lady. Much wiser than her years. An old soul in a young body. Very pretty. Intelligent. Musically creative. More responsible than I am. Solid relationship with God and the church. I could not be more proud of "daddy's little princess."
