I believe the pair of boots I have are the Alpha Burleys, made with the neoprene and coated with rubber. First year I wore them briars made a mess of them to the point where I doubt they are water proof any more.

Sportsman's Guide has a pair of Guide Gear insulated rubber boots now for $29....not sure how good they are, some favorable and some not on the reviews:

Lacrosse alpha burly 800s.They weigh 6.3 lbs a pair and for colder weather I wear Cabelas 1200 gram extreme pac boots.They are 5.6 lbs a pair.Not bad for pac boots.Warmest pair of boots i have ever owned.

Lacrosse Burly (uninsulated) for early season, been using them since I started hunting. I wear wool blend socks and my feet stay nice and dry/warm to temps down in the 20's. only issue I have is dry rot.

When temps are gonna stay cold and I sit all day I wear Rocky Snow Stalkers. Goin on 10 years with the same boots, a little haggered but I hate to get rid of them! And I got them at the seconds store at rocky for 30.00.

I had a gift card to use and have been debating a pair of uninsulated boots geared towards walking. Stopped at Cabelas on Wednesday and left with these: Under Armour All Leather Wall Hanger Hunting Boots. These things feel great on the feet! They lace up nice and tight, which I only like when I'm walking in the woods. The tread is good and aggressive, and from the looks of them, I buy them actually being waterproof. Very well made boot. I paired them with a pair of First Lite Mountain Athlete Merino Wool Crew Sock and they make a great combination. Looking forward to putting some miles on these bad boys!

IMO the only boot out there is a lacrosse burly. Mucks, Irish setters, etc are all junk.... they don't hold up and they end up stinking....... I have had 3 pairs of burleys since I was 10...... I have literally worn the tread off them before they started falling apart. And when i say fall apart I mean got holes punched in them.

Without going in to my medical history, I'll just say that I live in boots. I've owned just about all of them. I hated my UA boots the most. In that price range of boots, you can spend your money much better in other places. I will basically only buy two brands of boots, my first choice is Danner. Followed close by Bates. I also owned a military store for a few years and both these brands were my best sellers. Models changed more by the customer, but these two brands were highly sought after.

I've even own custom made White's and I wear my Bate's Tora Bora when I'm in the hills.

I cant stand rubber boots. I offent have to high and backpack 3-5 miles to a camp before hunting. Danner mountian light or merrel phaser.

I've always been a Danner boot fan. I've been wearing the uninsulated gore-tex 8" High Ground for two years. one of the best pairs of boots I've ever owned, and moderately priced, too. Very lightweight on your feet, excellent support, rigid heel counter, sole provides excellent traction. I've put some miles on this pair chasing the dog around, and they are still water tight after two seasons, and I've put them to the test a couple times this year with prolonged wading up to my ankles.

When it gets too sloppy, I really love my Lacrosse Aero's. exceptionally comfortable for a urethane and neoprene boot. the footbed is really comfortable. I'm not big into rubber boots unless I know I'm going to be wading around in water up to my calves. I don't buy into any of the scent free rubber shoe nonsense, so I'm not inclined to wear rubber knee boots for any reason besides keeping my feet warm and dry.

I bought my first pair of Irish Setters with the big opening with the scent ban at the top this fall! They were uninsulated but had great looking fall leaf camo and by far the lightest pair of boots I ever owned! Bought them at BP here in Cincy for about $170.
Loved them but my only beef was one boot seemed to dull up its camo color and started shedding the camo dip prematurely. Mostly due to scraping up against my tree steps though. Going to try and replace them for another pair.

I went to the Under Armor neoprene rubber boots this year because they were so warm and comfortable to walk in. I wore LaCross rubber boots for years but they weren't as comfortable to walk in and after the liner started to wear they developed a squeak when I walked, made it a real bitch to get in quiet. I buy them primarily for bow hunting but wore the UA's all year rabbit hunting because they were so comfortable. Really like them so far.

I wear Lowas, made in Germany and some of the best boots i've ever worn, have three pairs. My summer boots are the Lowa Zephyrs and my winter boots are the Lowa Hunter II, two pairs of these. These boots are not cheap as the Hunters run $450 and the Zephyrs run $225, but you will not find a more comfortable pair of boots, and they are very durable. I was turned on to these boots when I was in the military, as we worked in the mountains of NE Washington, and hiking long distances was the norm. Nothing kills morale like a shitty and uncomfortable pair of boots.
