My heritage?

I've been told we're German and I've been told we're Scotish/Irish.

Which one is it? IMO who cares. I'm an American. While I appreciate where my family "might" have come from in the end it doesn't matter. Shoot my distant kin could have been from the Congo or Saudi Arabia for all I care. The bottom line is that I'm an American and I'm damn proud of it. No one in the world has it as good as us and no matter what they say they all want to be like us.

Semper Fi!!!!!

Right on!

On my Farthers side
His Great........grand farther came over 30-35 years before WW1 from Gremany
As he was from farm family and wanted land to farm
He and his 3 brothers settled around Oak Harbor area

On my mothers side
She is 1/2 German , Her great .......grand farther came over just after WW1
Not many records as to what he did there , but he worked on a lake freighter here

The other 1/2 is English
He came over in the 1880's or 1890's and worked in a factory in NY city
Later generations moved into the Detroit area and worked for FORD

I only know this because my mother has spend ton's of hours and some $$ researching our familys past

She has page after page of our family tree

I was luckey to know my grandfather on my mothers side
He was a Fisherman , rum runner , farmer and hunter
The story is , he made the $$ to buy his farm , by bringing in beer and wiskey from Canada

I have one of his old shotguns

I don't remember my grandfather on my dads side
As he passed away when I was 4

I don't claim much of my mother's side. She is English, German, and Shawnee Indian. I'm a Roush and I'm proud of that side of my family. We are German, Irish, and English. I am proud of my Irish and Indian heritage the most...

Amen. To quote Ricky Stanzi - "This is America, if you don't like it, leave it!"
