When do you finalize your game plan?

Not sure what I'm going to do. Do I try and kill the tall 10.. Or hold out and hope that Tank or the other big guy come around. Tank was last seen about a month ago on the neighboring property about a mile away.. He's ghosted just like he did last season and wasn't seen again until shed hunting another property a mile away in March. The other big dude is 2 miles away on another property. So do I wait and hope they or something bigger comes around. Or Do I try and smoke the Tall 10 while he's still on his early pattern. There are plenty of big deer and holding out for the unknown travler durring the rut is an option to.. It just feels wrong to kill a buck before the rut when the area has so much potential for a stud.. But the Tall 10 usually disappears for the season around then too..

Not able to hunt until sometime next week maybe a couple evenings. May shower up and sneak into a spot that I have been keeping an eye on and throw some steps into a tree and make sure nothing needs trimmed up tomorrow mid day. Buddy on the neighboring property has 3 shooters on cam, and I know those deer are using this section too.

Winds are not right for the property I feel I have the best chance to kill a buck on in the early season. I still have some meat in the freezer so i do not plan on doe hunting this weekend. Starting to look like I might sit out the morning. Have plans tomorrow night. Maybe Sunday morning is the day?

Well, I checked my cameras, and there wasn't anything sepical going on. The daylight pictures of does confirmed where I am going to sit in the morning and evening. The wind will be right, and hope to put some meat in the freezer. Good luck to everyone going out this weekend. Can't wait to start seeing some pictures!

Does that mean you are going to start getting up when I do. I will shoot you a text in the morning to let you know the coffee is brewing.

HA. Fugg that noise! You might as well stay up all night as early as you get up!!! And I can't so coffee prehunt; makes me TOO automatic!!!

My plan now is to not do to much hunting this weekend. I really hope my dad lays the smack down on 'double d'. That deer is pushing 140 and is just a great buck that I've been watching all summer.

I was able to sneak in today to check a camera, and that buck is very killable right now. I just need too play it smart with setting my dad up. His first hunt will be Sunday evening.

I'm just not sure what I'm going to do if the old man doesn't get it done by the time he has to go back north. I've said from the first pics I've gotten of that deer I'd give him a pass because of his age, but it sure could b tempting that he's push in the 140 mark.

He's definitely a nice deer Gordo! Lets hope your dad gets a crack at him and gets him on the ground. Lol Goodluck to you and your dad this season!

Joe, I wish I had your problem man! Haha

Personally, I'd set up on the tall 10. He's OBB class and would look great next to Bankshot. It's no gaurantee you'll get a shot at him anyway but there's also a probability that the extra dose of hunting pressure due to opening day, Tank and the other booner might get pushed to land you have a stand on. Goodluck with your decision and season.
