I'd like to know how the hell Hardin County ended up as being one of the DSA counties anyway.Just be sure to follow up with the testing. Otherwise they're gonna kill off every deer in those counties.
I'd like to know how the hell Hardin County ended up as being one of the DSA counties anyway. There are NO positive test results for CWD, in Hardin County.
A couple pen raised deer in Hardin tested for it
Just wait until some fuckhole takes a positive tested deer to another county...I'd like to know how the hell Hardin County ended up as being one of the DSA counties anyway. There are NO positive test results for CWD, in Hardin County.
Even if I get the deer tested, I'd like to know the results before I waste my time and money having it processed.Damn it anyway! I was ready to hunt a property that's as far away from the alleged CWD, at the southwest corner of Hardin County.
I may end up shooting a deer that's "trespassing" from Hardin County, but lives in a neighboring county.![]()
No one is forcing you to hunt that property. During this weekend or any throughout the season, these are the rules you have to play by.A couple of pen raised deer has nothing to do with the wildlife population.Classic case of ignorance with the DNR.
I may end up passing on this weekend's hunt. I don't know if I want to be bothered with the hassle and expense of checking, waiting, special processors, tag cost and don't get me started with the recent gas price increase.![]()
If it's quartered out and in my cooler before I leave the infested county, I have a hard time believing it's going to cause trouble. What's left is going into garbage bags and sent to Mt. Grove City dump.Just wait until some fuckhole takes a positive tested deer to another county...
I was talking about a whole deer, not processed/meat.If it's quartered out and in my cooler before I leave the infested county, I have a hard time believing it's going to cause trouble. What's left is going into garbage bags and sent to Mt. Grove City dump.
Same rules for hunters that travel to and from other states now. If it isn't worth you time and hassle, don't do it. Let someone else take the property that is willing to do it properly. (Not saying that you won't, just saying in general)@giles ,
I agree with you, that I don't have to hunt that property and I don't mind going through their testing process. It just seems like a huge waste of my time and money to go through everything that it takes to get a deer, get it tested, processed, etc. and then find out that the meat has to be disposed of and not eaten.
Even the CDC states that there's no strong evidence to show that CWD can be transmitted to humans...cooked meat or not. According to what I'm reading on the CDC website, the CWD prions can not be cooked out. Even so, by their own admission they have no evidence that humans can catch it or be affected by it.
I'm going to call the Hardin Co. GW, later today and get some more info on testing results times, etc. and post up my findings afterwards. It's going to be his job to know this stuff.
