I always had water in the truck for just that purpose. In a pinch, throw em into shallow pool of water. Also, use their tale as a barometer. Get familiar with how it rides at the beginning of training and at the end. If it’s lower then the typical end of training during the training. Give him a break.

I'm actually quite lucky there is a Creek or a Spring on all 5 partials we train on. Carrying extra water would be a good thing as well
