Tell me about it dan...have not seen a shooter at all on stand...not even 300 yards away..got bad deer jue jue...

Hate to say this. But the deer were all over the place this morning. I traveled 70 west out of Columbus and deer were out feeding in the fields bright and early. I seen what I believe was 3 different shooters. 2 each had a doe and 1 had 3 or 4 doe.

She did say he looked awfully horny. Didn't know if she was referring to his large rack, or the erection he was sporting. :smiley_crocodile:

For sure the boner.

I've been working my ass off, traveling all over the state...at this point I'm building comp time for friggin turkey season. Busier than a mofo and last year's luck has succumbed back to the bad bow karma that I deserve...

Thankfully, with a hard frost I cannot start early. If it makes you guys feel any better I didn't see much the first 3 hours. So I decided to kill the first squirrel that gave me a shot from the stand. My judo tip went all the way thru the squirrel. . . . and he lived. In fact, the fletchings held the arrow in him as he climbed his dirty little butt about 40' up into a branch of the tree. After watching him wiggle and move up there I assumed he died with my arrow until I saw him climb higher. Finally had my foreman bring a shotgun to shoot him out of the tree to end his misery and get my arrow back. At this point the arrow broke upon hitting the ground. So my foreman and I decided to squirrel hunt. He took 3 with the Remington 1187. I shot one more. Unfortunately, I only hit it's tail. Did I mention the arrow stuck in the top of a hollow tree with the top broken out? Soooo, I went back out later with an extension ladder to get my arrow. Sure would hate to lose 2 arrows in one day due to squirrels. Climb the 32' extension ladder (fully extended in a hollow tree like an idiot) and retrieve my arrow. Sure enough, it split out the end of the shaft and it was ruined also.

Summary: Wish I was at work this morning. Deer: Zero. Squirrels: 4. Arrows: Minus 2

lol I know the problem. After having a 4 or 5 minute encounter Wed with the Boss (buck estimated to go 170 to 180 by TOO members) I had to go back to the office today. Hunting partner called me at lunchtime and was telling me about seeing an 11 pointer under his stand this morning but he passed on it due to being younger and having short tines. That really helped me concentrate on insurance sales this afternoon.....I ended up taking tomorrow off and will be back out there tomorrow morning hoping to get an arrow into the boss........

I took my buddy's cousin out this morning and decided to sit in style today. I'm in my blind with coffee, smokes, a heater and listening to a podcast. I'm just here for the party!!!
