Would You Shoot?

Dick i always have said if you have to think about it then you probably wont be satisfied after you take him.
If you have does hanging around you know they could pull a big boy in at anytime.
He is a nice looking buck though.

I'm so glad we all think alike lol. I can see him growing into a really good buck in a couple years. But, I've never seen him before so he may never show up again. Most of the bucks on my 10 acres seem to be home bodies. Just like Splitter did they tend to show up time and time again. I'll make the decision if he shows up and offers a shot. Depends on the time of season he shows. If I'm tired of having frozen toes and fingers he may be in trouble.

As for as shooting a button buck or doe, I have zero intentions of doing that. Only antlered deer cure my itch.

Agreed. If there's any question or doubt, then pass. If not and he gets you excited, then shoot.

I'd probably maybe possibly shoot. : )

If I saw him on my parent's 13 acres I hunt, I would probably shoot him. He is a nice looking deer.
But I do think he could be something special if you pass.

Good luck with what you decide.

Personally, I'd pass hoping he makes it another year or two. I wouldn't hold against anybody no matter what they shoot, as long as they're happy and tag it.

Lots of great advice here Dick but sounds like you got it figured out! Good luck

If I were hunting in NW I would shoot that with no hesitation, but after reading the history with the deer you killed last year, I would enjoy reading about the harvest of that deer in a few years.
