No idea, because he's a turkey (the dumbest, most non-logical animal in the woods). Mason and I called four of them up two times on opening day while we waited for Garrett to shoot. I suspect this is one of them as this is where we were setting.

I have seen gobblers strutting and gobbling in the fall a few times. Last year in SE Ohio had a flock of gobblers strutting and gobbling on top of a ridge while two 130-140 inch bucks were sparring between me and the gobblers. Turkeys can be pretty unpredictable birds.
