Bigger the better I always say! Transom mount. I think even a 50lbs motor should push my 15' canoe around pretty good

lol. damit matt , two weeks ago there was a kid walking up the road . made a coment about the troling moter leaning agenst my shed . i used it for my canoe . he said he needed one for his john boat . hells bells i just gave it to him .. your just a lil late .

A 50lb thrust trolling motor will make it fly...

I have a bow mount trolling motor with foot pedal, but you probably can't use that. If you can, $50.

50 lbs will make you fly for sure. I have a 45 lb on my 18' jon and it moves it pretty good.
