If you want a affordable camera for security, check out the Wyze camera.

https://wyze.com/wyze-cam.html

They run $20-25.00 each for the base unit. There is NO monthly fee as they run off your home network.
Very easy to set up. They offer two way audio , 1080P, HD or SD pictures.
Simple , user friendly app for your smart phone.

I could not be happier.

Below is the screen shot of the app when its pulled up on your phone.
Also has IR for night but you have the ability to turn it off or on with the app in real time. Shooting through glass may cause a reflection off the glass so I leave it off. Motion sensor on big flood lights illuminate more than enough at night for camera to see whos in the driveway. Inside the garage, Its on.

The driveway is a view from inside, looking through a dbl pane glass dirty window.
Inside pict of the long room is on the SD or lowest resolution

I was looking at these not long ago and wondered how good they would be.

I was also looking at the Arlo 2 system and now they have the newer Arlo 3 out now as well.

He was showing a few us at strouds about this. I think I’ll end up getting some, I was just waiting to see how well they lasted. But at the price, I should probably just pull the trigger.

I'm telling ya. I have waisted more on less.
The resolution and the ability to zoom like you do with any picture on a smart phone continues to impress me.
The ability to check out things at home from anywhere I get a cel phone signal is comforting...

My old friend is mounting 2 this weekend. 1 at his front door area so he can see the driveway/front door when he's out back working in his detached shop, 50 yards from his house. The other in his metal shop so he can look in when he's at the house. We'll set his up to send him a text or e-mail when the camera detects movement in the shop.
The only limits are how far your wifi signal can push out.

Im having an issue where these cams will not send me any notifications , like an alarm or something. I can pull them up to view just the same. I think I read somewhere today that they're doing some maintanence on the site or something... I dunno.

Ok I just figured things out. I have this app downloaded on my wife's phone as well so she can see what's going on. She started to get event notifications on her app icon, but I wasn't on mine. It finally dawned on me to restart my phone & after I did, I am now getting sound alerts & a dropdown banner that I can quickly view the incoming video.
