The rest of the gang have seen several bucks and have had shots but nothing yet has led them to click their safety off. The rut is still going on but unless you’re near that special doe it’s pretty boring out there. Some sits they’ve had are skunks or just seeing a few and others are seeing several 1.5-2.5 old bucks hassling a doe or two. Nicest deer seen since Tuesday morning by the rest of the group is a solid 130” 10. We’ve got so much standing corn around us still which definitely hasn’t been helping our cause but today we’ll be out doing slow pushes or well planned out still hunts in an attempt to just get them off their feet.
What’s frustrating and somewhat worrisome is none of us have gotten any mature bucks on our cameras lately. This trickle rut has definitely made it tough for us this season.
