Found 18 of these things today. Probably about 8#. So how do ya fix them? Just like 'shrooms?

IMO, I wouldn't eat any of those that Rick has here. It's a month too late from what I've heard. They need to be fresh or tender not leathery or callus like on the tops.

An old timer once told me to use a fillet knife and slice off the skin and cut them in slabs and prepare like fried morels or like baked steak smothered in gravy.

Thanks Ric! Don't want to go through the hassles for nothing. Some I have though is small and more pliable..... Wonder if they would be alright?

Have any others checked out iMushroom for their phones from the app store? I downloaded the free version and it seems alright.

I will try to get out again tomorrow and see if I can find anything in a different area.

Just found a few pounds of Hickory Jacks in the heavy creek bottom behind the silos. No morels this time. They should be delicious sautéed up with some venison tenderloin and fresh chopped Garlic

I've heard a couple of reports of people finding some Greys already, and I remember Brock talking about dandelions. So I decided to go for a little walk this morning out back. I didn't find anything, I know it seems crazy early…but the weather has been warm and things are greening up FAST! And with the cold coming back around, I felt the need to at least go look.

They might be finding in Southern Tennessee or Georgia. First ones in Ohio are blacks, then Grays, then yellows.

Pay attention when apple trees start blossoming, skunk cabbage is up. Another sign is when you need to mow the lawn the first time, not when Dumb *ss neighbor have to the First on the street to mow. Of course the lawn service companies jump the gun to pocket some green stuff.

I'm the last guy on my street, the rest have mowed already. I need to spray these dandelions first! I also didn't winter fertilize this year and I think everyone else did.

How is the grass that tall already for everyone on your street to be mowing?
