Want to come bowhunt public land in MS as a NR, it'll cost you $530. That gets you 3 bucks and 5 does though. If you add those three bucks up you might get a booner. 😅 To be honest though you're not going to find many on public land in Ohio either. Sure there are some, but what most NR with a glimmer in their eye for Ohio don't realize is all those big bucks they see on the internet came from an expensive lease, or private land that's locked up with family or close friends and they'll never be allowed to set foot on it. Or worse yet a farmer who leases it for farming and thinks he owns it so he lets people hunt it. I cant twll you the number of times Alex and I talked to a landowner who let us hunt and said only one guy, or nobody, was hunting it. Only to go out there and find guys hunting it and when asked who gave them permission they say the farmers name who has the ag lease. Residents in Ohio struggle hard trying to find private access and the majority of the time it never lasts more than a few years. If a NR wants to come to Ohio and shoot a monster they better add another 5-30k to that $399 cost for a license and tag. The DOW knows this and as NR leasing has increased and price per acre continues to rise the DOW is just chasing the money. What's an extra $150 to a guy dropping 5-15k a year on a lease? Can they go shoot a nice 120-130 on public, The odds are OK on public if they have the time. For most of the people who live in states where they've never even seen a 130-inch deer that's the deer of a lifetime.

Want to hunt turkeys on public land in MS that'll be $400 and you don't get to hunt the first two weeks of the season on public as that's for residents only.

Want one that really burns Nick's ass. The NR fishing license is $90, unless you're from Louisiana then it's $120. 😅 A while back LA and Ms got in a pissing match over NR License fees so Ms made a license just for LA residents and threatened to jack it up higher. We share the same coastal waters and most anglers on the coast have both.

I tried to stay out of this but since Joe put it out there…it’s a no win for any outdoorsman. Let me explain. Every state keeps going up because the residents complain about NR hunting and fishing their state. In the end we all get screwed. Even the “in staters”. Everyone will pay more down the road, your family and friends that comes from oos to visit will pay more. You will pay more when doing such in another state. Oh wait, every state will do the money grab point system “money grab”. You will have to pay more and wait to draw. Oh you finally got picked this year after waiting 3-7 years to hunt….great! Oh shit this summer was a major drought and EHD did its thing. Your fucked! I understand you’re over the counter and cheaper than a lot of states. Your public land hunting just from my one year hunting there was average hunting at best. Illinois was much better, Missouri is much better. This is not to start a pissing match just another perspective.

my thinking is either make reciprocal fees apply or make the license for every state the same. Neither will happen and the outdoorsman will be the only one taking a dry dong in the rump. Yes you read it here.

Social media is hurting every state bringing more and more people. Before that you have to decide if a magazine article was telling it like it is or have a friend of a friend that knew someone that hunted there. Same goes for the fishing. This has happened here. Our and I mean all of our DNR’s are doing a great job managing our resources….NOT! The only thing they managing now is your pocket book. In the grand scheme of things, fuck it, only hunt and fish the state you live in! I said what I said! Start the fire.

Ha man do we. 😅 You also need a ROLP (recreational offshore landing permit) which is free, unless you don't have one then its a fine if you're targeting reef fish. Then if you're targeting red snapper you also need to file a trip plan with the tails and scales app BEFORE you keep one. Oh and report how many you caught. Nicky and I could leave our respective launches. He in LA and me in MS. Head offshore and fish the same gas platform. He can keep 4 red snapper and I can only keep 2. If I have a LA license I could follow him to his ramp in LA, and have someone bring me my trailer and I could keep 4. 😅 Season closed in MS but not La, no problem just trailer 50 miles down the road and launch in LA and fish the same rig as I would have out of Ms. 😅

Ok.... I thought I ruffled enough feathers with my comments... BUT ILL SAY ONE LAST THING...

TIME FOR A GROUP HUG GUYS !!!!

Let's face it, we are all in the same boat when it comes to the outdoors.. Like Nicky said: Each and every state is in it for one thing... THE ALMIGHTY DOLLAR... Do you really think they care about you??? If you do I have a bridge for sale... I just wish they would use some warming KY....

So let's hug and get back to the regular scheduled program... Which I believe had something to do with improving your hunting experience in Ohio ...

You can group hug if you want to….but after Nicky started talking about a dry dong in the rump, I’m out! He probably got a fancy Cajun word for it too.😂😂
