Haha "booner" is the most commonly used word by the guys around me to describe anything bigger than 130" inches... when fact is, 95% of them probably have never seen a legitimate booner on the hoof!

I haven't... At least not within 300 yards. All these years in the woods and maybe I've seen one and it was way across a field and I can't confirm how big. But it was big. That's crazy to think about though.
From 1991-2011 more than likely never seen a booner. Dang!

No doubt, I haven't either, that's what I try to explain to them.... "I hunt deer a lot... and drive around and look for them all the time and have never seen one, but yet you guys see them all the time?" LOL!

I usually play it off and just listen to what they have to say, and most of the time it's a big line of shit......There are very few guys that I actually believe these days, and even fewer that I will talk to seriously.

Just like a lot of other things in life, you can't always judge a book by its cover. I've talked to plenty of guys over the years that are all camoed up, so many stickers on their trucks they look like a Nascar sponsored vehicle, yet when you get into the conversation you can tell that everything they've learned came from TV. There's posers in all walks of life. Then on the other hand I've been in conversations with people and somehow the outdoors subject gets dropped in. All of the sudden you're talking to a guy that knows his shit, hunts pretty hard, and you would've never guessed it.

I've seen plenty of "Hollywood" in the local sporting goods stores/sections around here. Always humorous. I went through that stage TOO though... :smiley_blackeye:

Same here, I thought I needed everything money could buy to harvest a good buck when I was first got into the sport.
