We heard several this morning, most just on the roost. We did not hear any on the property where we have permission. We hunted until 11:30 or so. We did see 13 deer, a coon, and a turkey of some sort across the property line. The first three deer we saw came out and fed in an old pasture. Mason wanted to "stalk" them, he did well and got within 30 yards or so. Pretty nice morning again, with only a little less excitement!

Sorry about your bad luck mason hang in there and never give up! Took my grandson Lane on the youth hunt sat and sun. Seen lots of hens but few gobblers. But he did kill his first turkey a Jake late Sunday eve. Don,t know who was happier me or Lane! I was wore out hunting two full days sunrise to sunset but it was worth the effort. Good luck in the future!

Mason has been down at his grandpas messing with horses today. He will be spending the night and going to church with grandma. We'll snatch him up after dinner tomorrow and go scout around on some ground I haven't been on yet this year...why, you may wonder? His mom is gonna let him skip school on Monday to hunt!!!! I have no idea what its going to cost me, but she is agreeable to it! We will take plenty of ammo.
