Seems everyone but the DOW has a plan to rebuild the herd.

I would be in favor of simply using the system that built the herd - be a little more conservative on tags and opportunity.

Why would they have a plan to rebuild the deer herd when their whole life's goal is to destroy it?? By they, I mean the elite employees of the division of wildlife who keep repeating the same old thing, that we have too many deer, when all evidence says else wise. The same guys saying this crap are the same ones that are brainwashed to do and say whatever big brother tells them to do and say. What poor and unfortunate souls. BTW, the majority of the guys I know saying this do not even deer hunt, or if they do it is not very much.

We can not keep managing on a county basis. Habitat differs so much within the counties, it just isn't practical. Many states are micro managing their deer herd, and almost all states have special restrictions on public land to ensure better quality hunting. Ohio is so far behind, its unreal. In fact, the only special deer regulations we have on our state managed lands is to allow an early muzzle loader season, which puts even more pressure on the deer and makes sure there were even less deer then there already was! How crazy is that.

See, that is where we will part agreement to some extent.

I just have real problems buying into the elimination of opportunity while leaving tags at 3 in any parts of the state OTHER than urban zones.

However I don't think it does or will matter a whole lot in the end what we think anyway.

I'm saying that's not off the table. But a solid population estimate would need to be done. I'm not so close minded that i don't believe there are areas that can support three tags. There are.. It also depends on if they redraw the urban zone maps. I have a feeling most of those areas will lay close to existing zones. I'm not saying 3 should be the norm right now, but it shouldn't be off the table. If we raise the population back up then we should be able to maintain a 3 tag system in southern counties no problem.

Okay, set the tag limit at two, remove bonus gun, and start season on the 15th, even better

You are thinking about today brother. You have to think about how you can change tomorrow and continue to fight like hell until you do.
