Lol I always hoof it, either just lack of buck or they are still carrying

I'm in the same boat as you Dennis. I've hoofed everywhere I've been so far. In lots of incidences I have to walk 1/2 mile or so before I even get serious about looking. It's been a long and frustrating shed season for me TOO but like you, I just haven't found the big buck handouts yet or they just haven't let go of them yet.

They've been known to drop pretty late here even after greenup starts. It does suck...lol, but what do you do?

Chase them down and kick em off! Lol on another note about deer, I worked at out new carlile shop today and last week they had reindeer running around 4 white and one brown, I even saw picks so I'm gonna look for some sheds after work :)

Who are you talking about? This guy? By the way, his shed was found within 15yds of the daylight picture.

Yes that guy. That's cool he's staying tight. You could run into him this fall. Did you have any encounters with him this past season or were you already tagged out early for your county? Lol

I only hunted this property a handful of times. I have trail camera pictures of him 19 different days. I pulled the cameras prior to youth season. Sometimes had multiple appearances per day though. I have a real good idea of his core area. It is simply a tough property to hunt. There are no easy access stands. You need to walk in 1/3-1/2 mile to the stands. Tough in open country. No ditches or anything to stalk. The places you could slide into a stand easily are right in the bedding areas or on the west side of the woods. Pretty tough given the rare east winds for our areas.

Sounds like you got him figured out. An east will will come one day next November.....until then just wait for it:)

Congrats Phil! Got the monkey off your back, you will find some more. I agree with Ric, that one will be a target buck this fall.

I thought he was a target last year but was on the fence. I keep reviewing pictures. Some pictures I see 3.5 and others I think older. Look at another and think maybe 2.5. His body changed tremendously from June to August. I bet he put on 1/3 of his fall weight in 6wks.

FWIW- I was trying my darndest to turn trail camera pictures into 140". If my measurements are correct, he would go 137" gross. He was very symmetrical, but just not quite there. Hoping to find his other side now.

Inside spread I knew was never huge probably 15-17".

Main beams 20.25". G1- 4", G2-4", G3- 8.75", G4- 7"

Base- 4.25", 4.25", 4.25", 3.75"= 16.5" mass

If my memory serves me right I think we all figured he was mid to high 130's and I posted a pic of a mounted deadhead that I had that reminded me of him. The deadhead grossed 139 and netted 135 with a 14.5" spread. He definitely has some upside and looks 3.5 TOO me.
