Was he possibly hunting with a rifle on a game preserve? Otherwise he might not be coming back to Ohio anytime soon other than to go to court.
That Bull Chit place called World Class Whitetails of Ohio lets people hunt with rifles. Those deer practically let you shoot them, and these assholes call it hunting. Look up their videos on YouTube.
Yeah figured high fence operation, why the hell even post a picture with the Caliber used when said caliber is known by most familiar with Ohio will realize its a high fence operation shooting someone's pet deer.....

Just my humble opinion -
Someone wants to pay all that money for a highfence hunt, that's fine and dandy for them.
I won't begrudge you the deer and the fun you paid for.
Kinda like going to the casino - some people refuse to go, say it's a waste of money. Other people budget an amount to lose and enjoy themselves. Nobody's place to judge another person's entertainment.
That being said, my opinion is that a "monster" high-fence deer is no better than a 100" fairchase deer.

I agree if someone want's to spend the money and do a high fence hunt, just don't try to pawn it off as a "fair chase" type of hunt.
The picture article was in the NRA American Hunter. I'm going to do a letter to the Editor as I bet they didn't know it was a high fence shot deer. We will see.
I bet they don't care. Check the back of a lot of the magazines printed by their managing group and there are often high fenced ads. Besides, what does the NRA care as high fence is almost always with a gun and those people support the NRA. I'm willing to bet you don't even hear anything back and if they do respond, it'll be PC as all get out...

Not much of a challenge there.I met a guy that has shot several of these high fence deer and he would never want anyone to know this but sure liked showing them off to people.Always let on like they were fair chase deer.Real deer hunter there.LOL

We have one of our TOO brothers that shot an absolute monster in a high fence. He shared the hunt on here with great details. Never tried to act like it was fair chase. From reading his writeup, it helped change my opinion of high fence operations a bit. I think some of them are like shooting a deer in a pen while others are massive operations similar to fair chase. Depends on the outfit. Our fellow TOOzer was very transparent about it though. He was invited on the hunt and I have a lot of respect for how shared it with us. I am truly happy for him and glad he shared it. I still couldn't see myself hunting an enclosed hunt, but I certainly don't think any less of him for accepting the opportunity that was given to him and capitalizing on it.

I just hate the misrepresentation of such articles. On that note, how many hunting shows do we watch where they're not showing the feeders just off to the side.
