Back in the same stand today, made a small scrape and dumped some "active scrape" in it. Had a doe in it for 5 mins, she spooked when a buck came over the hill. Then walked up the same hill, he chased her back down. 20 mins later had a yearling chasing its momma, up the hill. 30 mins after that 3 does (doe, yearling, doe) came in. Just started putting tension on the string when I heard crashing followed by grunts coming from the thicket behind me. As I am straining to see what it is I hear more deer running down the hill to my left. I take a peak, see a nice 8 and a spike tag teaming 2 does. Look back to the 3 does only to see they bolt down into the thicket. Spike stays broadside for 15 mins catching his breath I think.....I know I was! This is the 8 pt

This buck was directly behind me at 6:30

Then the wind came....damn!

A buddy of mine killed a dandy this morning, only deer he saw. Keep the faith boys.

Pics? Congrats to your buddy Brock!

Glad to know TOO nation is getting out, these winds suck though! Becareful and good luck everyone.

Got my grass mowed today and it was wicked out there for 2.5 hours! Leaf blowing was next to impossible!

He killed him at 10:00. Hadn't seen a deer all morning. He moved himself into position to shoot a turkey and after getting into position this deer popped up. He shot him from the ground at 8 steps. He went about 100 yards and folded up. This was his 6th hunt of the year, and fourth deer he had seen. Slow start, nice finish.

It sure is, Marcus. I was just outside of the shop and noticed the wind has died. Hopefully, some of you lucky guys are enjoying a great hunt right now!

Probably gonna regret this. 140"+ at 7 yards. At least I am pretty confident he was that big. It was getting dark and I kept goin back and forth from bow to binos. It got dark early. I wasn't 100% sure exactly what he was so I let down an let him walk. I could only see one side real clear. He had a dark rack. The more I replay it in my mind the more I regret it. He circled and decoyed right in. Scent Smoker saved me.

Hopefully he'll be back with more light left and you'll get another look at him....

Glad the decoy worked out for you....
