Getting my ASS kicked hunting right now!!!!! Two days ago we saw several thousand ducks with NO shots! Yesterday we kill two and had up too 2000 birds tornadoing above us. I just don't get it!!! We need some new dumb migrators to come in because the birds here now are so educated from all the duck dynasty hunts sky blasting and blowing their calls all the damn time they simply fly from sanctuary to sanctuary!

There definitely seems to be more pressure on the birds up here this year. The season dates and weather is likely to blame too. I've seen more groups field hunting this season than I ever have.

Those big groups of ducks are usually worthless IMO. You get that many sets of eyes above you at once it makes things really tough. Not to mention that no matter how big of a spread or how wide hour pocket is, a flock that size just doesn't have the room they need to land.

Jake and I were talking this morning... It's getting tough right now, and it's only gonna get harder the rest of season. The birds are getting smart and open water is closing fast. I hate to say it, but I think we're seeing the beginning of the end for 2013 north zone duck hunting.

I've hunted the same river bend for 10 years and on average we may see 3 other boats the entire season launch from where we do (its a bank you slide your boat off of). The other day there were 15 trucks and 7 boat trailers in this little parking area! Its freaking nuts around here.... We didn't even have to pick our calls up bc there was 10 hunting groups within 3/4 mile of us blowing at EVERYTHING at the top of their lungs!

Yep and all the guys like me that use TOO do it and are getting the bug again. That was the worse part was all the A-holes that would show up ten minutes before sunrise when you have been there set up for hours already.

Slow morning. Not many birds around. We whiffed a couple longer shots and that was it.

You guys down south should be seeing our North Zone birds any day now. It's wicked fuggin cold up here and the wind's blowing NE like a mofo.
