If you don't mind Don, I'd like to have the recipe as well. This darn picture done it.
Just looks like it would be sort "Peachy"rotflmao

The basic recipe is pretty easy. Tweeking it and giving it your own flavor is what's nice.
1/2 gallon welchs white grape peach juice
One 15 oz. can of sliced peaches
1 1/2 cups of sugar
Cinnamon sticks
Bring all this to a boil in a large sauce pan. Remove from heat and allow to coll to room temp. Add 1 cup of 190 proof grain alcohol or shine and 1 cup of peach schnapps. Makes about 3 quart.
I add a couple other ingredients to make it a little better, in my opinion. That's the tweeking part. :) Enjoy

Well I've gone since December 21st without any dip! I've been dipping for 34 years but tried quitting a dozen times during that span. I almost kicked it 12-15 years ago when I quit for 13 months. It's VERY addicting!!!

I guess I really enjoyed doing it though! Working outside, hunting and fishing, watching football or just plain relaxing would find me with a dip in. After meals are the hardest urges to fight off!

Ron and I both started in the mid 70's with Skoal wintergreen when it was just .55cents a can! Most of our buddies did it and soon we were both hooked. I continued to do it before during and after I met my wife and kept my habit a secret. BIG MISTAKE!!! Should have been up front with her from the start but I guess I figured I'd just quit at some point and then she'd never have to hear about it I guess. Whelp, its been 20 years and I got tired of hiding it and carrying that burden around any longer and told her about this habit. I felt if she knew about it and knowing she would not like me doing it, it might help me quit. This way she at least knows about it and can ask me if I had any tobacco of any kind. I told her I am totally done with it but if I felt any strong urges that I would tell her about it to seek support before falling back into the habit again.

It really has been going quite nicely so far. No set backs or strong urges yet and I find my will power to stay tobacco free gets stronger with each passing day. I went to the dentist this week and was relieved to get a good report on not having any oral cancers starting but they at least know about it now and can monitor it better.

Sure I miss doing it as I've done it well over half of my life but I feel it is time for me to stop. I have to think about my health as I'm not getting any younger and kicking this habit will definitely get me on the right track. I know my bro Ron(full bore) is going to try and kick this thing as well, so please keep us in your prayers so that we may stay strong and kick this habit for good!

Thank you my TOO brothers and sisters...:smiley_coolpeace:

Good for you buddy! I TOO rubbed for 32 years. Started with Copenhagen and never switched. Dabbled with chewing tobacco but that was just too "messy". I quit cold turkey June1st of 2012 and haven't had a pinch since.
You can do this! Like you said you will have the cravings for a while to come but its nothing you can't whip. You're wife had to be tickled to death with your decision to quit. I don't know how ya kept it a secret from her, Mary knew from the day I met her and hated it. I still get the cravings from time to time, especially when around people who rub. But it's been 18 months without it and I ain't going back now. Stay strong bud and just think how much better your life will be without it. Ya gotta do it for YOU. Just think how much your family will appreciate your quitting TOO though. You wanna be around to see them youngins continue to grow and enjoy the rest of your life with your better half! I had a couple tricks I would do when the cravings got bad that I will be happy to share with ya if ya get to "jonesing" really bad. Good luck buddy!

I bet it has to do with an economy sized bottle of Jergens and a roll of Bounty paper towels!! :DD

Ric glad to hear that you and Ron are both going to be tobacco free. I never really dipped but was a heavy smoker for a while. Coming up on ten years without a cigarette. It ain't easy but neither is deer hunting and look at how much we love it.

My youngest daughter Darby had surgery to remove her gall bladder yesterday, everything went well and she will be coming home this afternoon, she got to eat a meal late last night and it was the first one in a long time that didnt make her stomach hurt afterwards. She will miss this weeks school and then things should be somewhat back to normal.

Morse road? Happened to me there with mine....

Nah Morse Rd is safe but just a dump of a store (they all are inside 270). That one is controlled by the Somali's and they are cool with white folks. However, black folks are not safe there as they do not get along with Sammi.

picked up my new "eyes" today after work, definately gonna take some getting used to with the bifocals, but I can read something now without having to long arm it, the worst thing I have figured out so far is not to look down through your glasses when going down stairs
